Goodbye my friend

Life has a way of intervening. The last six years have been the hardest of my life, and through this time I had Kin by my side, for which I'm eternally grateful for.

Keeping an eye on me.

Of course this wasn't all one sided:

We had a good life together, and were happy:

And smiley:

Kin was not only my best friend, but a majestic boy:

Kin invariably made people smile (even if it was in sympathy/amusement at me, as I tried to get him to move ;-)

Valeria pictured was also known as Kin's Nanny, as in the last two year's of his life, she helped out, taking him out whilst I was working.

And Pablo  (Stavanger Petsitter  https://stavangerpetsitter.webs.com/dogwalking.htm ), has helped me out ever since the Food Mother (sounds better in Norwegian) of Madie introduced us ~ 2013.

Madie, & Kin.

Kin was a character, and had clear ideas on what he liked, and disliked, which could be 'problematical' with a 90 kg dog...

He loved the 'high speed' roll, which was always a pleasure to watch other folk experiencing this antic for the first time.

He loved belly rubs:

Obviously being a Newfie, he loved water:

And this is when a Newfie is at there most 'dangerous':

At least until after 'the three shake rule'!

Ice he took as a challenge to find a way through:
He loved snow:

Much as he liked treats:
And lived up to his reputation as 'the Gentle Giant of the Dog World', he much preferred cuddles:

And always moved to be close to me:

Or at least, somewhere that he could keep an eye on me:

Indeed, sometimes this was the only way to get him moving, when he'd settled down for the day, out of the house...

I'd put me e-book away (phone) get up, tell him I was leaving, and then hide out of sight, and he'd watch were I went, and then reluctantly get up and follow:

He always wanted to be where things were happening:

My beautiful boy passed away in my arms, in our garden on the 18/06/2021:

Kin, like Karma before him, lived up to his name.

I'm immensely grateful for the 10 years, 6+ months which we had together, and you are dearly missed, every minute, of every day.

Now there are only echos of him left, and I expect to see him, and he's not here:

Kin you are dearly missed.
